“As far back as I can remember, I’ve always loved dreaming, coloring, fiddling, decorating—experiencing the world with my hands, covered in paint, glue, markers. Nothing specific and everything at the same time, wherever my mind led me. I would find myself standing on my tiptoes, a paintbrush in hand, one in my hair, and a pencil in my mouth.
I feel incredibly amazed and blessed when something beautiful emerges from a new painting experience.”

Emilie is a Belgian abstract artist, with strong fervor for beauty in general,  but specialy in fields like architecture, fashion, poetry, music, and materials. This passion continuously fuels her creativity, enriching her artistic journey and infusing her work with diverse influences. 

Abstract painting became a natural choice for her because the imagination of color and form is boundless. It’s an expression without words, without justification, nor pressure. It’s a calm and soulful place where the spectrum of possibilities keeps expanding. 
Emilie studied art in high school and worked in marketing after university. Throughout, she never stopped painting. Following her husband to Barcelona for two years, she took abstract painting lessons and visited exhibitions, immersing herself further in the art world. 
When confronted with the significance of our time on earth, recognizing it as our most valuable gift, she believes it is in sharing that beauty through an inspiring piece of art. 
She employs various techniques—scraping, casting, monotypes, dripping—focusing on materials, colors, and gestures. The subject of the painting is never essential; it’s merely an excuse to discover new techniques, new ways, new poetry.
